The Strange Loneliness That Can Come With Spiritual Awakening

Sometimes awakening doesn’t make you feel more connected at first. Sometimes it makes you realize how disconnected you’ve been.

There is a side of spiritual awakening that people don’t talk about nearly enough.

The loneliness.

We hear about becoming more intuitive. Seeing synchronicities. Feeling energy differently. Questioning reality. Discovering manifestation, consciousness, meditation, ancient wisdom, or the possibility that there is much more to life than what we can physically see.

That part sounds exciting.

And sometimes it is.

But there can also come a strange period when you begin looking around at your life and thinking:

Why doesn’t any of this feel the same anymore?

The conversations you once enjoyed may suddenly feel empty.

The things you used to chase might not excite you.

Certain friendships may feel different.

Crowded rooms can somehow make you feel lonelier than being alone.

You may even be surrounded by people you love and still feel as though nobody completely understands what is happening inside of you.

That can be one of the most confusing parts of awakening.

Because aren’t you supposed to feel more connected?
